| Since Sept 11th, our entire generation has been pushed through history's doorway towards an outcome unknown. How ironic that after 50 years of fighting a Cold War against atheistic Communists, it was religious right wing, law and order fanatics who broke in during the night, and stole from us.
Killers claiming sainthood, with God on their lips, and hate in their hearts, robbed us of our innocence. After Sept 11th, We must all come to grips with the reality that every American; Black and White, Jews and gentiles, right wing or left wing, are all targets in a blood war declared against us by a mind set that finds holiness in murder. A philosophy of thought that drowns God's word in the blood of the innocent. A collective mirror has been raised, a nation grown weary of Government corruption and grown over-confident in our role as the sole superpower of the world must look deeply into its reflection and fully grasp the fact that the dice of destiny have rolled, and we must defend our right to live in the world! Like every other American, there are things about the government I would like to change. I still believe that there is a disproportionate division of wealth in this country that breeds all of the racism and social problems our people suffer and keeps us from becoming what we have the resources to become. But having said that, I also recognize that ONLY in America do we have a chance to be free, and change the system. |

It's the America of Lincoln that I cling to. It's Franklin Roosevelt's America, the one that Fed the hungry in the 1930's then stormed Hitler's Europe in the 1940's. It's Martin Luther King's America. While standing in front of Lincoln's Memorial, King raised the same collective mirror we now see to another generation of Americans and asked for the justice of America long denied a race. It's the America of justice for all, of government of the people, by the people and for the people. It's freedom of action and thought and it's freedom from want. That's the true America, and it's worth fighting for. May God bless our cause! "America! America! May God thy gold refine Till all success be nobleness And every gain divine" -America, the Beautiful by Katharine Lee Bates |
