AC: I'm glad your cat is very important to you because it sounds like it's going to be just you and the cat. Cats have a sixth sense about people. Trust your cat's instincts and ditch the fiancée and kids.
I want to put a collar with a bell on it on Puss, but every time she hears the bell she knows what's going on. She doesn't want the collar on at all. How can I put it on her without causing her too much discomfort?

AC: Um, don't wave the collar and jingle the bell wildly as you approach Puss. Hold the bell so it doesn't make noise and try to slip it on kitty when she sleeping. Good luck and keep a first aid kit handy.
My cat is 6 years old and is the grumpiest stubborn lump of 24 pounds I have ever met. I want her to be more playful and charming to be around. She's just like having a pet rock. How can I make her more playful?

AC: Gosh, I'm sorry your cat isn't entertaining you. Your cat might perk up a bit if you put down your Miller Lite and showed her some attention. Maybe your cat is looking at you and wondering why you don't get up and do something for her amusement. Just how many lumps of 24 pounds have you met?
My problem is that my cat, Punky who is almost 4 won't jump up on people's laps! Also she growls! Are any of these normal? I haven't heard any other cat GROWL before.

AC: Punk is absolutely normal. Many cats won't jump into your lap but will be glad to sit with you if you pick them up. You've never heard a cat growl before? You should hear The Answer Cat when his dinner is late.

AC: I don't think your cat is in pain. Cats will often jump up, howl and run to bite something. I can't tell you why, Us cats are sworn to secrecy on certain topics.
My male cat who is nearing his 5th birthday, has taken to mothering a stuffed cow that vibrates when you pull the string. He gives it a bath, sleeps with it and is very protective of it. I have heard of females mothering inanimate objects, but never males. Is this strange?
