| Why does my Catanga attack me when I'm just minding my own business? ev_hay_hay@hotmail.com AC: Are you really just minding your own business? I suspect not. You must be putting out some type of subtle vibe that makes your cat want to sink it's teeth into you. I had the urge to swat you just from reading your e-mail. Please can you tell me how can I stop my cats from clawing the carpet on the bottom step of my stairs? porterj100@hotmail.com AC: Put a scratching post right in front of the stair. Or remove the carpeting from the stairs. |

| Keeping to a strict health regimen, The Answer Cat leads some interns through a routine of stomach crunches and belly rubbing. My 5 year old male cat Zac constantly brings down the stuffed animals from the upstairs room where I keep the "toybox". Every single day are stuffed toys downstairs, I bring them all back upstairs and the next thing you know they're all back down. He usually meows this weird meow while he's bringing them down too. I even tried hiding his stuffed frog, which is pretty big for him, but he finds it and down it comes. It's almost like a game. What's that all about? Susie0224@peoplepc.com AC: You answered your own question. It's a game. Zac is playing with his toys. Isn't that what they're there for? What kind of person would hid a cat's stuffed frog? What's up with that? My12 year old cat, Tigger, is very stubborn. He can't even stand to be in the same room as our dog. Tigger also sort of stalks my Mom. He was with another family for a while before we adopted him. Do you think something happened then? Is there any way I can help him be less moody? ginger_bunny@eudoramail.com AC: You've heard the expression you can't teach an old dog a new trick? Well it's even harder to teach a cranky old cat not be moody. Tigger's personality isn't going to change now so you'll just have to love him the way his is. I am about to get a cat and she is the sweetest thing except that whenever I try to pick her up she starts to bite and claw. What should I do so I don't get bit? ajsjcm@earthlink.net AC: If a 20 foot tall person swooped down and picked you up in the air do you think you might get upset? Some cats do not want to be picked up. Dont pick up your cat and you won't get bit. My cousin says her cat is pregnant, but I don't think so. How can my cousin and I tell if her cat is pregnant? vm5650@aol.com AC: You and your cousin cannot tell if her cat is pregnant but a vet can. My question for T-shirt is this: why do cats always seem to get the last word in? Even if it's just a little meow? catlady17@peoplepc.com AC: My answer is this: Why shouldn't we have the last word? Nice try, but you'll be receiving an art print. You'll have to purchase a T-shirt. And that is the last word because this is my column. |
